The Tiwi Collection
Nestled on the shores of the Tiwi Islands, off the coast of Darwin, artists of Pirlangimpi, Milikapiti and Wurrumiyanga share stories of their connection to country through Jilamara (design).
Through this collaboration with NORTH, female artists from Munupi, Jilamara and Ngaruwanajirri Art Centres along with their families, invite you to embrace their culture and wear it with pride.

Working in a non-for-profit and collaborative capacity allows NORTH to realise their values. At this stage in growth as an enterprise, NORTH is unable to fully fund the manufacturing stage of this collection, making a pre-order process the perfect solution to ensure they remain financially responsible and the artists get the best deal. The successful launch of the Tiwi collection will mean three things:
- A new income stream for the artists & their families is created through the purchase of handscreen printed textiles.
- Community pride is strengthened as Tiwi designs make their way around the world.
- NORTH as an enterprise will be financially supported to develop future collaborations that support and broaden the exposure of remote Indigenous textile design.
You will receive an email confirmation of your order. Your order will be posted from NORTH HQ in Darwin from August, 2019. NORTH accept exchanges on all unworn items with tags.
Made with care
